I spotted this sign in the main Osaka train station, on a stairway landing leading up to the Loop Line platforms. Imagine the reaction to such encouragements, in a big American city. The blind man is sensing the ribbed edge of the train platform, and the wheel-chair guy would have no alternative -- no elevators, and only the more modern stations have escalators.
