Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Merry Solstice, Happy Festivus... whatever you celebrate at this time of the year, I hope you're having a good one. We've been making rather merry ourselves here at Wunderland and consequently this update is lightweight. The only new stuff this week is Chapter 13 of the Empty City and another story from My Secret World, called Moebius Strip.

Several people have asked me what I thought of Titanic, since I'd mentioned last week how much I was looking forward to it. Well, not too surprisingly, I loved it. But I do have a complaint. I was bothered by the fact that the film makes no mention whatever of the Californian. For those not up on the Titanic story, this was a ship that passed quite close to the Titanic while it was sinking, but which never realized that the Titanic was in danger. They had turned off their radio equipment when the radio operator's shift had ended, and even though they were close enough to see the Titanic's distress flares, they ignored them. They knew it was the Titanic, and assumed the crew was just shooting off fireworks to entertain their luxury minded passengers. To me, the Californian is a key part of the Titanic story, demonstrating how everything that can go wrong sometimes does, and leaving it out of what will undoubtedly become the standard version of the story seems wrong to me. But that's just a minor rant. Otherwise, the film is outstanding and I recommend it very highly. Don't wait for it to come out on video - this is a film that needs to be seen on the big screen.

Happy Holidays,
