Gina's tying her shoe. The airplane's
engines raise in pitch as it taxis into a turn. I'm thinking
that we should wait till most of the people leave since we're
in the back and not in a hurry.
seneschal (senn'-uh-shahl) n.
a powerful official in the household of a medieval noble:
he was in charge of administering justice and managing the domestic
affairs of the estate, and he represented his lord in court.
- Nurse Betty :)
Surprisingly dark,
with doses of innocence
and comic relief.
Titanica
I'd say that seeing this footage of the wreck of the Titanic
in an IMAX theater is about as close as you can get to the experience
of actually going down there to look at it yourself (and it's
a lot less time-consuming).

With
the summer gaming convention season winding down, and with the
holiday shopping season starting to loom, we've been turning
our attention to our next round of new releases. We've got some
exciting stuff in the works... check out the newly updated What's On The Stove
document for lots of details on the exciting stuff we've got
in the works, including the new single-stash packaging we have
in mind for the next production run of Icehouse pieces, which
will finally include purple, orange, and white!
Of course, having just reported elsewhere on everything we're
doing, I find I have little else to talk about here on the front
page. Have a great week!

Mar was already taking steps towards relocating
to California sometime this fall... but with the nightmare
of sewage flooding ruining her home, she's decided to just leave
right now. So, the question for my Bay Area readers is this:
Anybody got a spare room they could rent her cheap? It would
just be for a month or two, while she looks for a place of her
own... |

Some of my readers were unclear as to why I'm
bothered about thieves stealing the aluminum cans out of my recycling
bin during the night. No, it's not as if I'm losing anything
personally, but I count myself as lucky for living in a neighborhood
with curbside recycling, and I hate seeing it undermined by robbers.
I'll be really upset if the city kills the program because it's
not cost-effective... |

"The sad
story about Marlene's father reminded me of a new research
finding I read about just yesterday: Children who watch an average
of more than 4 hours of television per day are significantly
less likely to intervene or call for help in an emergency. Speculation
is that this is related to a) the overrepresentation of happy
endings on TV, and b) being accustomed to 'experiencing' emergencies
passively." -- email from 'Becca

- "I look back on that day with a smile, as it really
did reenergize our game-playing spirit. FLUXX requires thinking,
but it has such random components that even the most skillful
player will not always win - that's just the way it is. Knowing
that a win or loss did not reflect his ability to play granted
my husband a freedom that allowed us to enjoy this game together,
leaving the competitive spirit behind."
